Austrian music and travel partners celebrate
Who can argue with the Austrian National Tourist Office when they say that Austria and particularly Vienna is a popular destination for music lovers, and even more so with people who enjoy to perform music themselves!
With thousands of years of music history preceeding them there is no doubt that for music lovers Vienna is the place to be and reason enough for the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) in co-operation with Emirates, Gulliver’s Sports & Music Travel and the Sydney Symphony to invite music teachers, choir directors and conductors to introduce the new Summa Cum Laude Choir Festival, which will now take place annually at the Musikverein in Vienna during July.
Participants will have the opportunity to perform in the “World Capital of Music” while they meet choirs from around the world in amicable competition and during a Cocktail Reception at the Opera House last Friday, Dr. Ron Smart of Gulliver’s Sports and Music Travel stressed that it would be a dream come true to see the Australian flag raised in the ring of winners at this prestigious youth contest.
Tim Harrowell, Emirates Sales Manager NSW/ACT, Astrid Mulholland-Licht , ANTO Director and Dr. Ron Smart from Gullivers Sports & Music Travel as partners to promote music travel to Austria & Vienna.
At the same time Tim Harrowell, Sales Manager NSW/ACT for Emirates presented his carrier as the ideal choice with daily flights to Vienna from Australia via Dubai and Astrid Mulholland-Licht, Director of the Austrian National Tourist Office, inviting Choirs to come to her home country to communicate with the world in the one true global language everyone understands and as quoted by the famous Austrian composer Josef Haydn who said, “My language is understood in the whole wide world”.
More inspiration followed, as the evening continued with guests being treated to Brahms’ 1st and 3rd symphonies performed by the Sydney Symphony at the Opera House.
