Avro jobs to go in call centre relocation
Up to 60 jobs at seat-only firm Avro are under threat due to a call centre relocation.
The Cosmos sister company plans to relocate its call centre and customer service operations into the group’s Stockport call centre.
The cuts are being made as Avro adapts to the changing seat-only market, according to the company.
A statement said: “Regrettably Avro will be entering into a 30-day collective consultation period with 57 member of its staff. Some ancillary functions will also be affected.”
Sales, commercial, product and pricing divisions will remain at the comapny’s offices in Bromley.
Avro managing director Andrew Nicholson said: “We deeply regret that these measures will have on our staff but are confident that these developments will allow Avro to maintain its position as market leader within the flight only sector.”
He added: “This move will allow Avro to expand its programme dramatically to incorporate sister company destinations whilst at the same time offer agents a reservations system which will be significantly more agent friendly, requiring less training and product knowledge.
“We believe this will allow us to continue to grow the business and massively enhance the prposition that agents have in terms of product to compete in the flight-only and component-based holiday arena.”
