Award-winning agency launches non-travel venture
A travel agency has launched its first non-travel venture after rebranding to allow it to diversify.
Robert Broad Travel, which won AITO Specialist Agent of the Year this year, recently launched under the umbrella name RB Collection to encompass all its travel brands and allow for new ventures.
The Staffordshire-based company, which has been established for 27 years, is now publishing its first book.
‘Three Wheels on the Wagon: Travels around the Middle East in 1966’ has been written by a client, Tony Fisher and features a group of 20 somethings on their adventures from the Midlands to Jerusalem.
Director Oliver Broad said: "We created the name RB Collection so we could do exactly this, pursue new ventures. We are still at our heart a travel business and this latest venture into publishing is an innovative way of using our experience and links to create a new product offering to our clients."
The author’s cousin Dave Archer, who has worked for Robert Broad Travel for over 9 years at their travel agency on Boley Park, Lichfield, said: "I remember when Tony left on what the family considered a real a real mad adventure back in the 60’s.
"Back then there were no mobile phones of course and the only way knowing if he was safe was by post!"
