An 11 year old agreement between British Airways and Avis has been extended to cover all the airline’s passengers.
The previous agreement was restricted to Executive Club members.
The new global five-year partnership will see the car rental company supply to all grades of traveller with the airline.
Avis vehicle rental will be available through all the airline’s booking channels including its website.
A new ‘Be There Sooner’ campaign by the two brands is to be unveiled this month.
As part of the new deal, Executive Club members will be offered three BA Miles per £1 spent on car hire together with a range of other loyalty enhancements.
The airline’s relationship marketing and insight, BA Miles director Andrea Burchett said: “Avis has delivered a fantastic service to our Executive Club members since 1998.
“It was important to us that we extended this to all our customers worldwide and Avis had the capability, excellent service and the brand values to deliver that.
“The partnership seemed a natural fit for us and we know the benefits to our customers will be enormous – based on just four vehicle rentals in a calendar year, you could boost your BA Miles balance by in excess of more than 10,000, which means you’ll get to your desired destination sooner.”
Avis Europe partnerships and leisure director Julia Kemp said: ‘’Avis are now the sole car rental provider for British Airways customers worldwide.
“The new partnership reflects our commitment to the airline and our belief in their brand values and synchronisation with our service levels.
“The aim is simple; to make the travel process easier and quicker for our customers.”
