The result of a strike ballot by British Airways cabin crew is due to be announced today.
The earliest date the Unite union could order a walk-out is four days before Christmas.
The union is in dispute with the airline over job cuts and changes to working arrangements.
The ballot result is due to be announced at lunchtime today (Monday) at a meeting at Sandown Park racecourse.
BA chief executive Willie Walsh, writing in today’s Daily Mail, called for more talks with the union, claiming there is “absolutely no justification” for a strike.
“There is no need for Unite to play the Grinch who stole Christmas,” said Walsh. “Let’s work together towards the airline’s recovery and let people enjoy their hard-earned festive holidays in peace.”
