BA faces strike threat
The threat of a strike by British Airways baggage handlers and check-in staff has come a step closer.
Another group of workers has rejected a three year pay offer.
According to online news service Ananova, GMBU members turned down a proposed deal by 98% and the union is now seeking approval for a strike ballot.
BA has offered a deal worth 8.5% over three years or 10.5% if the money did not count towards pensions.
But a union official reportedly said: “Both offers are completely unacceptable to the people who keep BA flying.”
The TGWU announced last week that pay talks had broken down and that it was considering its options, including a ballot.
Check-in staff caused chaos last summer at Heathrow with an unofficial walk out in a row over working conditions.
