BA halts Hong Kong flights
British Airways has suspended scheduled flights to Hong Kong over the HK government’s strict quarantine rules. BA has temporarily stopped flights and is ‘reviewing operational requirements for this route.’
It comes after a BA employee tested positive for Covid, which led to most crew members being taken to a quarantine facility. The same thing happened a week earlier. "We’re supporting crew who are currently isolating in Hong Kong," the airline said.
Hong Kong has some of the strictest quarantine protocols which has impacted airline operations, especially local flag carrier Cathay Pacific. Cathay has been forced to cancel flights due to because of resulting staff shortages.
