BA Terminal 5 – time for bouquets?
I recently travelled from Terminal 5 Heathrow and saying that I was anxious before hand was an understatement. Due to the recent press and luggage issues I felt all I could do was pray. However, it was a fantastic experience!.
On arrival at the terminal I found the whole environment completely serene and peaceful. There were plenty of BA staff on hand to assist if needed and there were no queues. I was first at check-in and the luggage was taken easily. Security was easy and all BA staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful which is more than their past indifference.
The shopping arcade was of a high level, the gates were bright and airy. Service in the Restaurant ( pub) was good. There was even a Gordon Ramsey restaurant on offer. The gateway was comfortable. The flight was good and the cabin crew were even more friendly and pleasant than I have received in the past. The food onboard was very good also. I was on a flight from LHR to MIA so it always helps if a lengthy 9 hour journey is accompanied by good service.
On arrival, the customs at MIA airport was seamless and again, another BA Rep was there to guide people where to go (again something I have never had before). Upon arrival at the luggage carousel – I held my breath! Will it arrive?! My suitcase was the first to come down! Hurrah!
So, yes, I agree BA didn’t do well with the planning of opening Terminal 5 but they must be congratulated on how they have turned it around. Well done, British Airways!!!
