BA to axe more than a dozen long-haul routes
British Airways is to axe a number of long haul routes, including the Seychelles, Kuala Lumpur and Durban.
Flights from Heathrow to the Indian ocean island will be permanently suspended from April 24, with other routes halted from March at the latest.
In addition to the Seychelles, the routes being cut are Heathrow to Calgary, Charleston, Pittsburgh, Durban, Abu Dhabi, Damman, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka and Seoul.
Flights to Jeddah may operate during the Hajj festival in July.
Gatwick services to Lima are also being axed.
Additionally, flights to Bangkok and Sydney will remain suspended until 30 October 2021, while Gatwick services to the Costa Rican capital of San Jose will be halted during the summer, with the final flight operating on 17 April.
BA said: "We are sorry that, like other airlines, due to the current Coronavirus pandemic and global travel restrictions we are operating a reduced and dynamic schedule.
"We will be in touch with any customers whose flights are affected and advise customers to check ba.com for the latest flight information."
