Baa-Baas ready for the Lions
The Barbarians rugby team is gearing to take on England and the British and Irish Lions.
The Barbarians are unique in that they have no ground, no clubhouse, no entry fee, no subscription, and the clubs they visit pay their expenses in the main. It is in every respect a touring club
The jersey has always been black and white, worn with dark shorts and the players’ club stockings.
Along with the best players from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and South Africa, the Barbarians also include in their teams the leading French, Italian, Romanian, Fijian, Japanese, Russian, Samoan, Tongan and Canadian players.
The Baa-Baas’ tour kicks off with the annual match against England at Twickenham on Sunday, May 26 before the squad flies to Hong Kong to take on the British and Irish Lions on Saturday, June 1.
The British and Irish Lions then head for Australia where they will play games against regional sides before a three Test series against the Australian Wallabies starting in Brisbane on June 22.

Tuesday 18 June v ACT Brumbies – Canberra Stadium, Canberra
Saturday 22 June v Qantas Wallabies – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Tuesday 25 June v Melbourne Rebels – AAMI Park, Melbourne
Saturday 29 June v Qantas Wallabies – Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
Saturday 6 July v Qantas Wallabies – ANZ Stadium, Sydney
