BAA eyes China for further expansion
BAA is looking towards the booming Chinese market as it plans for future expansion.
Chief executive Mike Clasper said it as eyeing “secondary” facilities, which are already carrying several million passengers.
His comments came as BAA reported growth from its UK airports was slowing. Although passenger numbers are expected to grow 2% in the 12 months to March 31, it is half the previous year’s figure.
“What we are looking at are the secondary airports but given the way the Chinese economy is booming, the secondary airports are handling million and million of passengers,” said Clasper.
