BAA shares on the rise
There were mixed fortunes for travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices moved in different directions.
While the FTSE 100 index dropped 35.1 points to close at 4783.6, the FTSE 250 did much better and rose 23.7 points to end the day at 6967.1.
The most significant move was at BAA, which rose 11p to 586p after the company reported that it carried a record 140 million passengers through its airports in 2004.
