Bales Worldwide announced on July 27 that it will be offering frequent departures to Egypt incorporating a trip onboard Oberoi’s brand new flagship, Oberoi Zahra Nile Cruiser.

This vessel, which will come into operation from October 2, 2007, will feature the Nile’s first massage suites and the largest cabins on the river, combining this unrivalled level of luxury with the breathtaking majesty of the Nile Valley. Prices for a 12 night holiday including a seven night cruise and three nights at the Oberoi Mena House in Cairo start from £1695 per person.

The luxury cruiser features 27 suites, thought to offer the largest accommodation on the Nile. The standard cabins have king size beds set in 26 square metres (the size of many regular hotel rooms) with large picture windows and panoramic views of the Nile. The two grand suites (at 50 square metres) have separate living rooms and private decks with Jacuzzis.

Passengers can enjoy daily ‘spa time’ as part of their sightseeing itinerary, to take advantage of the wellness options including relaxing treatments in one of the three massage suites, a dip in the swimming pool, or something more strenuous in the gymnasium.

The seven night cruise itinerary runs from Aswan to Luxor, or vice versa, and includes highlights such as a sound and light show at Philae Temple, the High Dam, Edfu, Kom Ombo, Karnak, Valley of the Kings and Queens, as well as a sail to Qena to enjoy cocktails at the pergola, next to Cleopatra’s bath at the Temple of Denderah.

The Oberoi Zahra Cruiser is also available as part of a 12 day holiday staying for three nights in Cairo at the former hunting lodge of the King of Egypt, the Oberoi Mena House, priced at £1695 per person, including all flights, transfers, a full sightseeing itinerary, accommodation and most meals. Spa treatments are at an additional cost. Alternatively the cruise can be incorporated into any tailor-made itinerary for longer or shorter durations.

Bales continues to feature one of the widest choices of Nile cruises, from the smaller (only six cabins), colonial styled Dahabiyyas, modelled on the 19th century sailing boats, through to the larger 1920’s steamboats such as The Kasr Ibrim or the classic 52 berth Nile Beauty.
