Bangkok cops swoop on fake Viagra
Five men have been arrested by Thai police following a crackdown on sex drugs sold illegally to tourists in streets around Bangkok’s red light districts.
Raids discovered fake drugs, including Viagra.
“We have received complaints from the public that stalls explicitly sell fake drugs to tourists in the evenings,†said the head of Bangkok’s consumer protection police.
Two Myanmar nationals and three Thais were arrested in the raids.
Police released a list of items seized in the operation, which was estimated to be worth a total of US$16,800.
One of the fake drugs confiscated was listed by police as “Night fire heartily burnable lady’s intense emotionâ€.
“This has tarnished Thailand’s tourism image,†said the Thai Food and Drug Administration, which took part in the raids.
