Barbados Tourism names new US director
Barbados has a new marketing chief for the US market.
Barbados Tourism Marketing, Inc has named Petra Roach as US director, following a successful spell as vice president in the United Kingdom market for 12 years.
She was also the interim CEO for several months last year during the transition of the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) to Barbados Tourism Marketing, Inc.
"The US market offers significant potential for Barbados so the focus will be on looking at where the opportunities are and putting plans in place to realize those opportunities," Roach said.
"It will be a steep learning curve getting to know the intricacies of our partners’ businesses and understanding the makeup of the distribution network here in the US but I am so excited at the task ahead."
Under her leadership the UK office oversaw several successful consumer and trade events and promotions including the Top Gear Festival Barbados and Connect Barbados.
