BANGKOK – Best Western International Asia has appointed Tajara Leisure and Hospitality Group as the Best Western area developer for the Philippines.

“The Philippines has a lot of travel and tourism potential. Its colorful festivals, reputation for hospitality, infrastructure development, and richness of its culture boosts arrivals yearly,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western vice president—international operations Asia.

“In Asia, which is the fastest growing region for Best Western Hotels, we have 123 properties which are in various stages of rebranding, refurbishment and construction.

“We expect to add another 10 hotels in key locations in the Philippines to achieve our goal to have 200 hotels by 2010,” de Souza added.

Cyndy Tan Jarabata, president of Tajara Leisure and Hospitality Group added, “Tajara Leisure’s partnership with Best Western will help address the country’s need for mid-range hotels in key areas in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu, including key destinations such as Palawan, Boracay and Bohol.”
