Beware the peanut clean-up charge
News that EasyJet in the UK is to follow some other budget airlines by imposing a charge for checking in all bags further confirms that LCCs can get away with their super cheap fares knowing that once they have lured a passenger onto their aircraft they can then make a grab for their wallet.
Easyjet will charge £2 for luggage checked in online in advance or £5 at the airport.
What next? Expect the budget carriers to start charging an “aircraft cleaning fee” to take care of all those spilled pesky peanuts, or a few dollars for a seat nowhere near crying babies or seat-kicking toddlers.
