Gulf Air: gradual resumption of flights at home-base Bahrain
Following the announcement of a conditional two-week ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US, Gulf Air is beginning a phased restart of flights from Bahrain.
In a passenger update, the airline said it will progressively reinstate scheduled services to and from Bahrain International Airport following confirmation from Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs that the country’s airspace has reopened.
Marking the first arrival in over a month, flight GF9008—operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner—touched down at 22:09 local time on Wednesday April 8, from Dammam.
On Thursday afternoon, the airline operated additional services into Bahrain, including two Airbus A320neo aircraft from Medina and Riyadh, as well as an A321neo from Dammam.
The carrier just released a calendar of flights for the next ten days with 10 destinations being flown from and to Bahrain. However, Gulf Air also confirmed that its temporary routing of flights via King Fahd International Airport in Dammam will remain in place for now.
Passengers are now provided with booking options for departures from both Bahrain International Airport and King Fahd International Airport.
The airline’s flexible policy remains unchanged, allowing customers traveling on Gulf Air flights through April 15 to request a full refund or make changes to their bookings.
