Bicton rules in Cruise Council awards

Western Australian agency, Bicton Travel, triumphed at the International Cruise Council Australasia’s 2010 awards, winning Australian Cruise Agency of the Year and Consultant of the Year

Council Chairman Gavin Smith said the awards paid tribute to the substantial contribution of travel agents to the ongoing growth of the local cruise market.

WA’s Bicton Travel dominated the top categories, winning the Gold Agency of the Year award for Australia as well as the Australian Cruise Consultant of the Year Award, awarded to Phil Smethurst.

Australian category award winners included:

Gold Cruise Agency of the Year – Bicton Travel, Bicton WA

Silver Cruise Agency of the Year – Phil Hoffmann Travel, Glenelg SA

Bronze Cruise Agency of the Year – Clean Cruising, Brisbane QLD

Frank Johnson Cruise Consultant of the Year – Phil Smethurst, Bicton Travel, Bicton WA

Consumer Promotion of the Year – Cruise Express, Balmain NSW

Rising Star Award – Cory Edmondson, ecruising.travel.
