Birmingham Airport flights resume after crash landing
Birmingham Airport has reopened its runway, and flights are operating again after a small aircraft had a hard landing.
Following the incident, all flights at the airport were grounded.
The light aircraft came in for an emergency landing after its landing gear failed.
“The aircraft returned to Birmingham and made an emergency landing and the main under-carriage collapsed on touch down,” said Woodgate Aviation, the owner of the plane.
The airport said: “We understand the frustration and apologise for the disruption this has caused.”
“Our teams have worked as quickly as possible, in line with strict protocols to ensure a safe reopening of the runway following a prolonged closure.”
One person suffered minor injuries in the incident, police said.
