Bmi launch online check-in
Bmi has introduced online check-in and new self check-in stations in a move to improve efficiency at airports.
It follows a survey among 10,000 customers who pinpointed less time at the airport as the mark of a good airline.
But online check-in will only be available on selected routes. It will not be offered on any long haul services, eight routes from Heathrow or several bmi regional routes.
The system, where it is available, enables passengers to input their booking reference or credit card number and print off a boarding card. Once at the airport they leave luggage at designated bag drop-off points.
The self service station enables passengers to check themselves in and also colleagues if they are travelling on a premium economy or business fare.
