Bmibaby nearing BA’s online market share

Sunday, 21 Sep, 2004 0

Hitwise statistics for last week show bmibaby recorded a 12.2% share of visits to commercial aviation websites in the UK.

This puts it into fourth position behind BA with a 12.34% share for the week ending September 18 .

EasyJet continued to top the table with 20.06% and Ryanair came second with 15.2%.

The 12.2% share achieved by bmibaby is a record for the airline. Managing director, Tony Davis, said: “There are a lot of carriers fighting for website market share and new entrants emerging all of the time. There is a clear line dividing the top airlines from the rest of the market in the web share statistics that we receive.

The remaining airlines in the table were Flybe in fifth with 5.59%, then Thomson Flights, Bmi, Monarch Airlines, Jet2.com, and Thomsonfly.com with less than 5% of the share of visits.
