Bob Iger returns as Disney CEO
In a shock weekend announcement, Bob Iger is back as Walt Disney Co chief executive.
Iger replaces Bob Chapek, effective immediately.
Chapek stands down after succeeding Iger in 2020.
“It is with an incredible sense of gratitude— and a bit of amazement — that I am returning as chief executive officer,” Iger wrote in an internal email.
Chapek’s contract as CEO was only extended earlier this year.
Iger inked a contract as CEO for two years, Disney said.
