Boeing expects Dreamliner return within weeks
Boeing expects commercial flights of its Dreamliner 787 to resume within weeks, not months.
Ray Connor, president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said it depends how quickly the company can move through the certification process, according to BBC reports.
Earlier this week, safety regulators in the US approved an upgrade to the aircraft’s lithium-ion battery, which is believed to have been the cause of two onboard fires.
All 50 Dreamliners in operation have been grounded worldwide since mid-January after two incidents where the lithium-ion batteries overheated.
Thomson has already been forced to cancel its first Dreamliner flights planned for May as it hasn’t yet been told when to expect delivery of its first 787.
