Boeing unveils larger version of popular 737
Boeing has launched the largest version yet of the 737 short-haul aircraft.
It unveiled the 737 Max 10 at the Paris Air Show this week.
Boeing has already won more than 240 orders for the new plane, which will be able to carry up to 230 passengers.
The manufacturer says the jet will have lower operating costs than any other single-aisle plane.
"The Max 10 will provide customers with even more flexibility in terms of airplane range and higher seat count," chief executive Dennis Muilenburg told the BBC.
The Max 10 is 66 inches longer than the Max 9 at 143 feet 8 inches, but its larger capacity means its range is 300 nautical miles less than the 3,515 of the Max 8 and 9.
Boeing will step up production of 737s from 42 to 47 planes a month by the end of this year, with the target of reaching 57 a month by 2020.
Boeing is also evaluating demand for a new, longer-range aircraft that would sit between the largest 737 and the 787 Dreamliner and come into service in about seven years.
