Bournemouth Airport sold

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has sold Bournemouth Airport for an undisclosed sum, according to the BBC.

The airport, which handles about 700,000 passengers a year, was bought by Rigby Group, which also owns Norwich, Exeter and Coventry airports.

MAG chief executive Charlie Cornish said an integration plan was in place to ‘maintain business as usual for passengers and customers’.

He added that MAG had sold Bournemouth to concentrate on improving its larger airports – Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands.

Rigby chief operating officer Steve Rigby said the deal would provide job security for existing staff. "While already a well-run and robust operation, Bournemouth Airport is ripe for growth," he added.
