Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ‘to holiday in Lake District’
The Lake District can expect a flood of visitors following news that Hollywood’s most famous couple has booked a family holiday on Windermere.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are heading to the Lakes with their six children, according to the Daily Mirror.
They have booked a boathouse for a few days of relaxation during a break in Jolie’s work schedule.
A source told the newspaper they’d chosen the Lakes for a holiday because Jolie was originally supposed to be shooting Maleficent nearby, but the film relocated to a more convenient spot close to Pinewood studios.
"They’d already booked a few days off though, and they didn’t want the kids to miss out on their trip up to the Lakes, so they decided to go," said the source.
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown favoured the Lake Distrcit for his summer holiday when he was in office in 2009, but TravelMole is sure that Brangelina will do more to raise the profile of the region than Brown ever did.
