Brand USA appoints new Board members
National destination marketing organization Brand USA has strengthened its leadership with the announcement of two new Board members and the reappointment of one existing member.
Noel Irwin Hentschel, chairman and chief executive officer of AmericanTours International joins Brand USA as a Board representative for the travel distribution services sector.
Hentschel is joined by Mike Gallagher, co-founder and co-chairman CityPASS who represents the small business sector.
Brand USA also confirmed the reappointment of John Edman, director of Explore Minnesota Tourism.
Brand USA Board members each bring specialist expertise in specific sectors, which include hospitality, restaurants, small business or retail, or in associations which represent the relevant travel industry sector.
"We are very fortunate to have talented industry leaders like Noel Hentschel and Mike Gallagher join us in the mission of promoting and attracting greater international tourism to generate jobs and export dollars for the USA," said Barbara Richardson, Brand USA Board chair, who is also chief of external relations for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro).
"We are also pleased to continue to benefit from the experience and expertise of John Edman for another term."
Brand USA, along with the new members, convenes the next quarterly Board meeting on May 2.
Studies conducted by Oxford Economics estimate Brand USA’s marketing efforts have helped attract 4.3 million incremental visitors to the US in the last four years, which benefitted the US economy with nearly $30 billion in total economic impact.
