Brand USA appoints new marketing head
Destination marketing agency Brand USA has appointed industry veteran David Whitaker as its new chief marketing officer.
Whitaker will join Brand USA on May 11, following eight years as head of Tourism Toronto.
Reporting to Brand USA President and CEO Christopher L. Thompson, Whitaker will lead development of the strategic marketing plan through consumer marketing, travel trade liason, research, and collaborative marketing programs.
Before taking the helm at Tourism Toronto Whitaker spent 17 years with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, where he held the positions of executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
“I could not be more thrilled to join the dynamic team at Brand USA. Having a chance to help represent our country and assist in inviting the world to visit the USA is both an honor and a privilege,” Whitaker said.
