Brit stabbed to death on Caribbean island
A British man has been murdered in a tourist district on the Caribbean island of Barbados.
The incident happened following a dispute with a local man in St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church – a popular tourist neighborhood.
The as yet unnamed victim was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in the capital Bridgetown but died of his injuries later.
According to reports by Barbados Today, the British man was in his late twenties and died of fatal chest wounds in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Declining to give any specific details, a spokesman for the UK Foreign Office said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Barbados on June 15."
"We are providing consular assistance to the family at this sad time."
The news report said a local man is suspected of the attack but no arrest has been made.
