British Airways appoints Lloyds TSB chairman to board
Lord Marshall, chairman of British Airways, has appointed Maarten van den Bergh, chairman of Lloyds TSB, as a non-executive director to the airline’s board.
Currently 12 in number, the Board will reduce to 11 members as Mr Michael Davies and the Hon. Raymond Seitz announce their retirement. The changes to its Board of Directors will take effect from the company’s AGM on July 16, 2002.
The airline has confirmed that Lord Marshall, who will be 70 in November 2003, will be standing for re-election at the AGM for a further period of two years.
Dr Ashok Ganguly and Lord Renwick of Clifton will also be standing for re-election at the AGM when their respective current terms of office come to an end. In addition, shareholders will be asked to elect John Rishton, chief financial officer, and Captain Michael Jeffrey, the non-executive Chairman of the Board’s Safety Review Committee, both of whom were appointed to the Board since the last AGM.
