British Airways has started selling its Club Europe packages online, following the recent introduction of technology which will allows customers to create their own dynamic packages.
A spokeswoman for ABTA said it hoped travel agents would not be disadvantaged by the online push.
“We hope they will continue to work with the trade and at least offer them the same deals that are available direct,” she said.
BA is selling over 600 five-star hotels and the packages are available across the short-haul network, including its top selling destinations of Rome, Barcelona and Prague.
Customers are still able to buy a flight and hotel only off the BA website, but can now also create their own holiday packages which the airline claims now offers better value than before.
