A British skier has reportedly been killed in a skiing accident in the Swiss resort of Zermatt. According to the online news provider Ananova, the 20-year-old, who had been working in the resort, was seriously injured when he crashed into a safety net, which “violently” threw him back on to the piste. Valais police say the man, who has not been identified, was transferred to a clinic in Viege, close to Zermatt, and then to a hospital in the capital Bern, where he died. The website reports that the man is the ninth to die in a skiing accident in Switzerland this year.
