British tourist killed in African safari terror attack
A British tourist was among three dead after a suspected terror attack while on an African safari.
Two tourists and their guide were shot dead and their safari vehicle was set on fire.
The second tourist is South African, the Uganda Wildlife Authority said.
Uganda Police Force spokesman Fred Enanga posted on X that members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) are suspected of carrying out the attack.
The ADF reportedly has links with ISIS.
“Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels,” Enanga wrote.
It happened during an African safari in the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The victims’ names haven’t been released yet.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office responded with an updated travel advisory.
It warned against ‘all but essential travel’ to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
“If you are currently in the park, you should follow the advice of local security authorities.”
“If you are able to do so safely, you should consider leaving the area.”
