British Travel Awards call for cruise line sponsorship

No cruise company has come forward to gain exposure by taking up sponsorship opportunities with the British Travel Awards.
 
BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Barton said: “In our 2009 survey of 17,000 consumers, cruise was identified as the area showing the most growth in the travel industry.
 
“In response to consumer comment we have increased the awards in the 2010 cruise category, yet no cruise company has jumped at the opportunity to promote itself to our consumer audience.”
 
Confirmed sponsors for the awards, which take place on November 4 in London, include, P&O Ferries, Universal Studios, Lloyds TSB Cardnet, Thomas Cook, Avis, TripAdvisor and Attraction Tickets Direct .
 
BTA consumer media partners include News International publications – The Sunday Times, The Times, The Sun, the News of the World and Sun Talk online radio. 
 
Sky Travel broadcasts daily promos and produces a post-event highlights programme.
 
LBC, Heart and Classic FM to cover the awards including reports by travel journalist Simon Calder in his LBC Travel Clinic and with live coverage from the event. 
 
Award sponsors receive benefits in addition to editorial and advertising exposure via media partners. 
 
Logo and pop up windows on the BTA website, which last year received more than one million hits, plus ads, prize exposure, trade facing publicity via all trade partners including ITT, CIMTIG, Advantage, AITO and Worldchoice. 
 
Sponsor logos are also featured on all pre-event collateral such as tickets, maps and booking forms.
