Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange starts today

Saturday, 16 May, 2007 0

Over 200 of Fiji’s top tourism producers and hotel operators will be facing about 150 buyers from all over the world in Fiji’s Denarau Island today for the first day of the Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange.

In a context of very difficult trading conditions, BFTE is considered by the Fiji tourism and travel industry leaders this year to be very “interesting” and the trade is working hard in the event to recover its previous strong market position, in particular from New Zealand and Australia, their core markets.

Fiji’s Prime Minister and Interim Minister for Tourism are reported to be visiting BFTE tomorrow to show their support to the country’s struggling tourism industry and The Mole is hoping to meet with them to secure their views.

More Fiji BFTE reports on the way!
