Busiest August for new travel jobs in years
New travel job opportunities in August were at their highest since 2017, according to the latest monthly data from C&M Travel Recruitment.
Last month’s total was up by 40% from a year ago, and up 9% on August 2019 pre-pandemic.
Additionally, August 2023 recorded the third highest monthly total of new travel roles so far this year.
However, the number of new candidates actively seeking travel jobs fell by 18% in August to its lowest level in 2023 so far.
Still, August is traditionally the slowest month of the year.
August also saw a fall in new travel job placements, dipping by 26% from the previous month.
Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “August is always one of the slowest months but it was a much busier month for new vacancies.”
“Also, travel salaries have now been steadily rising for around two years and we’re continuing to see monthly increases.”
