Busiest August in seven years for travel job candidates
Jobseeker numbers increased by 19% last month to reach the highest August total for seven years, according to the latest travel job data from C&M Travel Recruitment.
However, it marked a monthly fall of 11% compared to the previous month.
Traditionally the second slowest month of the year for travel recruitment behind only December, August 2024 saw a fall in new travel job vacancies which dipped by nearly one third in August.
Similarly, the number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs fell by 19% from July and by 29% from last August.
Barbara Kolosinska, MD at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: “August is always one of the quietest months of the year for recruitment. But there were bright spots to be found, including the highest number of new active jobseekers that we’ve seen in an August for seven years.”
