It points to record booking levels in January despite the cost of living crisis. It hit record numbers on several days this month. It says easyJet holidays packages are 60% sold for this summer. The company had a 161% year-on-year increase in customers. It forecasts 50% growth for its holidays business compared with last year. According to CEO Johan Lundgren, it ‘filled five aircraft every minute in the peak hours, with three record-breaking weekends for sales revenue.’ EasyJet reported a pre-tax loss of £133m for the final quarter of last year. -

Packages from easyJet holidays are also available on all the new routes. From nine airports across the UK, more than 200,000 extra seats are on sale. It includes popular Greek islands Santorini and Chania, Corsica and Lisbon, as well as Antalya and Izmir in Turkey. Flights are also launching to Amsterdam from Southend, from Glasgow to Lisbon, and from Birmingham to Naples for the first time this summer A new service from Manchester to Paris Orly will operate year-round. The airline will also once again offer flights from London Gatwick to Ancona in Italy, with a twice weekly service. The new routes also mean brand new easyJet holidays packages are now on sale. The tour operator has added brand new hotels to its portfolio including the 5* Delphin Imperial in Laraand the 5* Ramada Hotel and Suites by Wyndham Kusadasi in Izmir. Flights are now on sale on easyJet.com or via the app. -

A new study commissioned by easyJet holidays finds the average Gen Zer is now taking two mini breaks abroad and three staycations a year. Gen Z is more likely to book more mini breaks and mix it with remote working. Over half (57%) admit that they will only accept a job that offers flexible working. More than half opt to take mini breaks in order to maximise their holiday allowance. The rise in remote working means more Brits are taking long weekends away. A sizeable 79% admitted to not telling their bosses they were working abroad. Top mini break destinations include Spain (42%), Italy and France . Matt Callaghan, Director of Customer & Operations said: "There's huge demand to catch up on holidays lost during the pandemic.” -

To celebrate the travel agent portal launch, easyJet holidays is offering travel agents an extra incentive. All bookings made by 15 December earn £10 per booking. The tour operator is running a series of competitions over the coming weeks, with top travel prizes. A competition on the tour operator’s travel agent Facebook page is live, with the chance to win £250 in vouchers. The new summer service will launch on 1 April 2023, operating twice weekly. Seats are now on sale. The new route also marks the start of a five-year agreement which see easyJet basing an aircraft in Jersey. From next summer the airline will offer up to five daily flights between Jersey and London. EasyJet bookings showed higher ticket yields for spring to summer 2023, but demand falls away in winter months. It says cheaper destinations Turkey, Egypt and the Greek islands are popular next summer. October half-term is also selling well. Ticket yields are up 18% for Christmas. EasyJet’s all-inclusive programme is also popular due to uncertainty on costs in the months ahead. "Outside of peak periods, there's a need to stimulate the market to get air travel demand back," CEO Johan Lundgren said. -
