Busy airports to avoid this Memorial Day
For travelers trying to avoid the busiest airports this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, stay away from Chicago’s O’Hare, LA Lax and Denver.
An Orbitz Insider Index that looked at ticket sales for the holiday found those the top three busiest airports.
Chicago’s O’Hare was No. 1 for the second year in a row.
Other rounding out the top ten domestically:
Atlanta, LaGuardia, San Francisco, Newark, Boston, Orlando and Las Vegas.
Some alternatives:
ü The Charlotte Douglas International Airport as an alternative to Atlanta. The airport recently became smoke-free. Valet services are available for drivers and a car detailing service can even be requested while you are away on your trip. The comfortable Atrium includes a tree-lined walkway that is full of white wooden rocking chairs.
ü Instead of Boston, air travelers might consider Providence’s T. F. Green Airport. It is convenient for New Englanders — a short drive to Connecticut, Boston, and just a little over 3 hours to New York City.
If it’s any consolation for travelers who can’t avoid the busy airports, some facilities such as Denver’s have shops that offer everything from haircuts to massages and manicures.
