CAA confirms all Eastern Airways flights grounded
Eastern Airways customers have been advised not to show up at the airport after the airline scrapped all flights.
The domestic carrier is now on the brink of collapse.
It abruptly cancelled all scheduled flights indefinitely.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority confirmed no flights will operate and urged customer not to show up at the airport.
The airline filed an intention to appoint an administrator notice at the insolvency court.
“Eastern Airways customers should visit the Civil Aviation Authority’s website for the latest information,” the CAA said.
The airline had offered flights to and from Scotland, Humberside, London, Newquay, and Teesside.
Several rail operators have offered free travel for the next two days for customers and Eastern Airways staff, while regional carrier Loganair is offering special recue fares to stranded customers on some routes.
