Caesars reveals plans for non-gaming resort in Mexico
Caesars Entertainment Corp has unveiled plans for a new $200 million hotel project in Mexico.
The beachfront hotel will take shape in Puerto Los Cabos by developer Grupo Questro is expected to break ground in the first half of 2019.
It will feature 500 rooms and suites but will have no gaming facilities.
"Bringing Caesars Palace to Puerto Los Cabos will represent further progress on our strategy to expand the company’s nongaming businesses into premiere resort and gateway destinations," said Mark Frissora, Caesars president and chief executive officer.
It will be the company’s first project in Mexico.
Planned amenities include a 40,000-square-feet convention center, three restaurants, an entertainment venue, swimming pools, a spa and fitness center, and tennis courts.
Guests will also have access to two signature golf courses.
Puerto Los Cabos is a mixed-use resort community overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
"This resort will represent our first investment in Mexico, and it speaks to the global strength of the Caesars brand."
It follows a move into the nongaming hospitality business with an agreement to manage two luxury nongaming resorts in Dubai.
