California theme park rides no longer a scream
With themes parks in the Golden State permitted to start reopening from next month, the California Attractions and Parks Association has set out a plan of action to keep everyone safe and healthy.
It includes the usual wearing of face coverings and social distancing, but one rule is causing a stir. The Association wants to limit shouting and screaming.
Although not expressly banned, it wants to ‘mitigate’ shouting, screaming and laughter. This follows a similar recommendation in Japan which was brought in last year.
It is perhaps unenforceable in practice and the wearing of face masks will no doubt help to muffle any excessive noise. In addition California theme parks will not allow entry to out of state visitors.
