Call for entries to the Liverpool City Tourism Awards
Businesses in Liverpool are being urged to enter for the city’s Tourism Awards 2016 before this Friday’s deadline.
The awards, which recognise the region’s stand-out contributors to the tourism industry, has a range of categories including Tourism Experience of the Year and Tourism Young Person of the Year.
They are open to individuals and businesses across Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, Wirral and Knowsley and a ceremony on May 19 at the Grade I listed St George’s Hall is expected to be attended by more than 500 guests.
Peter Sandman, head of Visitor Economy at the Liverpool City Region LEP, said: "The awards are a brilliant opportunity for the region’s businesses to be recognised for the positive impact they have on the visitor economy.
"Our independent panel of judges are looking forward to evaluating the entrants and stand out companies and individuals that comprise the thriving tourism sector in the Liverpool City Region.
This year, entrants have a choice of 17 categories:
· Hotel of the Year
· Guest Accommodation / B & B of the Year
· Serviced Apartment of the Year
· Small Visitor Attraction of the Year
· Large Visitor Attraction of the Year
· Taste Liverpool
· Small Tourism Event of the Year
· Large Tourism Event of the Year
· Tourism Experience of the Year
· Bar of the Year
· Excellence in Business Tourism
· Entertainment Venue of the Year
· Independent Tourism Business of the Year
· Best Newcomer to the Visitor Economy
· People’s Choice
· Tourism Young Person of the Year
· Tourism Star(s) of the Year
