Canada’s largest online travel company switching to Galileo
Canada’s largest online travel company, itravel2000, is switching its reservation system from Sabre to Galileo International.
“By converting to Galileo, which we find to be a much more robust and streamlined GDS, itravel2000 will continue on our fast growth path and meet the needs of today’s traveling consumer,” said Jonathan Carroll, president of itravel2000.
He said by deploying Galileo’s Apollo system, itravel2000 is able to leverage the strong affiliate partnership opportunities of Galileo’s parent company, Cendant, with brands including THOR and RCI.
Other reasons for the move: Galileo’s innovative technology and level of leisure and tour package content through LeisureLink, according to company officials.
Itravel2000 sells packaged trips, flights, cruises, car rentals and hotel stays around the world through 175 agents based in Mississauga, Ontario.
Galileo International’s core business is to provide electronic global distributions services for the travel industry through its computerized reservation systems, products and internet-based solutions.
