Exhibitions, music, food and festivities will be part of an event to be held in Canberra from September 16 until November 30.

The World Carnivale Trail is a series of exhibitions, music and food events and festivities aimed at highlighting Canberra’s top tourist attractions.

The event aims to complement the Floriade flower festival, with a colourful mp available to visitors to help them discover the city’s art, memorabilia, film, architecture and music.

Exhibitions at several Canberra venues including the National Museum of Australia, Old Parliament House and National Portrait Gallery will highlight the event.

Canberra’s restaurants and bars will also take up the World Carnivale theme, with visitors able to taste traditional foods from around the world and see how multicultural cuisines have influenced modern Australian cooking
