Car hire brokerage firm gets new investors
Tampa-based car hire brokerage firm, Car Rental 8.com, has been acquired by a group of Caribbean and US-based partners.
The investors are lead by Yoni Epstein, CEO of itel-BPO Solutions, a regional provider of contact centre and back office solutions services, and Tony Davis, former vice president of international sales Hertz Global Holdings, which operates Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands globally.
The group, which has over 25 years’ experience in the travel industry, has acquired an 85% stake in the company.
Epstein said the investment would help build on the firm’s strong business base in the domestic US market, open up the Caribbean and Latin American market inbound to the US, as well as growing the UK and European market business to the US.
"We will look to bring a new energy and enthusiasm to this already well respected brand and take it new heights," added Davis, who has been appointed CEO.
Under the new management, the business plans to double its current annual growth rate of 13%.
Car Rental 8.com allows customers to book from several rental car agencies online, including Hertz, Sixt, Avis, Dollar, Thrifty, Alamo, Enterprise, National, Budget, Europcar and Fox Rent A Car for both domestic and international travel.
