Car hire moves into ticketless age
Amadeus has launched car hire e-vouchers in the latest development in ticketless travel.
The move, launched in conjunction with Avis, Europcar and Hertz, will eradicate the need for agents to write out information on forms.
Amadeus said it will also save car hire companies money as they will no longer need to print and distribute pre-printed forms to travel agents. In addition, customers will no longer have to show any paperwork as proof of reservation.
The move was welcomed by business agents who said it will remove a layer of administration.
Cambridge Business Travel operations manager Richard Munday said: “Travellers have become used to ticketless travel when flying so it’s a natural progression to remove paper documentation from ground arrangements.”
