Carlson Rezidor has launched  the Sports Approved Hotel program in the Americas.

Available at the company’s Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson brands, it provides hotels with an official designation that guarantees service levels to visiting sports teams.

‘"At Carlson Rezidor, we are committed to providing experiences that exceed the expectations of our guests,’" said Kaaren Hamilton, vice president, global group sales, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

"This program allows our hotels to gain the training and certification to effectively host sports teams and provide enhanced services and is something we feel is unique in the industry and will deliver on that commitment."

Hotels which are designated ‘sports approved’ are able to provide service to ensure teams prepare well for their next game, whether they are pro teams, or high school and collegiate athletes.

Teams booking a stay receive pre-blocked rooms, expidited group check-in, complementary meeting space for team meetings subject to availability and discounted dining.

The Sports Facilities Advisory says the youth sports market is worth about $7 billion just on travel alone.
