Carlson role for ex-Malmaison marketing chief

Carlson Hotels Worldwide has named Gordon McKinnon as executive vice president and chief branding officer.
He joins the US group from The Rezidor Hotel Group where he was executive vice president of brands. Carlson is the main shareholder in Rezidor.
Before joining Rezidor, McKinnon was vice president of marketing for Malmaison hotels based in Glasgow, where his main responsibilities included the creation, control and promotion of the brand.
Carlson president and CEO Hubert Joly said: “We welcome Gordon to Carlson’s global hotel management team, and we look forward to drawing upon his extensive experience and unique skill set as we continue to enhance our hotel brands and market position.”
